When speaking with support at Quickbooks, I had a representative and a supervisor assist me but they said I would have to go to the 'next' level of support which would cost me money.
They did a remote connection and tried to uninstall and reinstall QB which was unsuccessful. That's pretty much all they did. They did manage to change the access under the security tab in my Quickbooks file to where I no longer have permission to access any of the files.
So I cannot change or delete any intuit files. As long as you are the administrator on your computer, you can correct the security permissions so that you can use the files again. In fact it might be a good idea to make a backup of your important QuickBooks files and finance info first just so it is safe during further troubleshooting.
